The Southwest Brooklyn IDC is implementing economic development initiatives to help foster the focused, efficient and cohesive commercial revitalization of Red Hook. These initiatives include capital projects, a neighborhood marketing campaign, and focused business attraction through market surveys and real estate assistance. We are currently administering an Avenue NYC Storefront Improvement Program through the Department of Small Business Services and a Red Hook Main Street Programthrough the New York State Department of Housing and Community Renewal to help create a consistent streetscape along Van Brunt Street, reduce commercial vacancies, and enhance the feel and look of Red Hook’s main commercial corridor. In addition to these capital projects, we are working with city agencies and other non-profits to help promote Red Hook through our District Marketing campaign.
